Neil Bush

C. H. Tung was a great friend of my father, President George H. W. Bush. Whenever they met, in China, Hong Kong, or the United States, they would compare notes and discuss the relationship between the United States and China, which they both believed was the most consequential bilateral relationship in the world.

Elaine Chao

Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation; Former U.S. Secretary of Labor

Mr. C.H. Tung was the first chief executive of Hong Kong. He presided over a historic period in history. His training was in business, yet he made the transition into government during a unique time. May he rest in peace, and our condolences go to Betty and their family.

Yang Jiemian
