Hu Xiaolian is Vice Chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges. An economist by training, she previously served as Deputy Governor of the People's Bank of China, where she oversaw China's foreign exchange reserves and contributed to financial stability, and as Director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. In 2015, Madam Hu was appointed Chair of the Export-Import Bank of China, where she was instrumental in supporting trade and development projects, particularly under the Belt and Road Initiative. In 2008, she was ranked fourth on the Wall Street Journal’s ‘50 Women to Watch’ list.
