Li Cheng
Director, Center on Contemporary China and the World, The University of Hong Kong

Li Cheng is Professor of political science and the founding director of the Centre on Contemporary China and the World at The University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on Chinese political leadership, the middle class, technological development, and Sino-U.S. relations. Professor Li has authored 17 books, including ‘Middle Class Shanghai: Reshaping U.S.-China Engagement.’ He was the Director of the Brookings Thornton China Center where he remains a non-resident senior fellow. Professor Li serves on the board of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
